BAP first engaged Mockett Media to re-build our existing but out-of-date website. Caroline Mockett made a real effort to learn about how the Association works in order to both understand our current needs and make some very helpful suggestions for possible future add-ons to the site. Caroline of Mockett Media has performed wonders in designing and implementing our new web site, giving a clean, up to date look that matches the way the club has developed since the original site was designed. Mockett Media followed a detailed brief to upgrade an existing website by introducing two areas of content management. Caroline created a well-designed site with many useful user-friendly additions as well as developing simple and effective content management systems for our staff to use. I had always intended to create a web site but had run away from the complexities, having seen the horrors made by those who thought it was something they could do for themselves. Caroline has created an aesthetically very pleasing web site for me, and one that is also extremely easy to navigate. Her layout reflects what I wanted – she was able to discern this by careful questioning and without once lapsing into jargon – but it also embellishes on my wishes, making the site better to look at and more fun to use than I would have thought possible. The subtle introduction of background designs was especially creative, giving the site a particular and personal style.

It’s important for academics to disseminate their work and publications into the wider world. Normal channels like journals and books take a long time. By placing my publications on a website, I felt I could telescope the process. Mockett Media designed a website for me that is very user-friendly. All my publications are in a searchable database that can be queried in a number of ways, such as keyword, title, date, and more. The database works behind the scenes, so all the reader has to do is point and click.
After over two years of successful use (from visitors’ and my perspectives), Mockett Media proposed some new features and upgraded the site to make it more efficient.
I now have RSS feeds for my blog and the news page. A content management system allows me to keep the site bang up to date. Mockett Media worked very closely with me to ensure that the website really achieves what I want it to do. The result is a major advance over the original version.
